The Miami Police Department said early Friday that the incident occurred near Northwest 14th Street and Northwest 3rd Avenue, leading to traffic diversions. Police said State Road 836 eastbound was completely shut down.
According to WSVN, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue and City of Miami Police units responded to the scene near downtown Miami, where an incident occurred at a construction site tied to the Interstate 395 and State Road 836 interchange project.
WSVN reported that paramedics transported six construction workers from the area, though their conditions were not immediately known.
The incident may have involved a collapse of scaffolding or part of a bridge structure at the construction site, but officials had not confirmed the exact cause.
