Mexican baker and social media influencer reportedly kidnapped in Sinaloa
A Mexican baker and social media influencer has been reported missing in Culiacán, in Mexico’s violence-hit Sinaloa state, according to prosecutors. Local reports said she may have been kidnapped by gunmen.
Carmiña Miroslava Castro Salazar, 29, was last seen Saturday at a residence in Culiacan, according to a missing person alert from Sinaloa’s Prosecutor’s Office. Authorities said there are reasons to believe her safety may be at risk and that she could be the victim of a crime.
Infobae Mexico, citing local reports, said Castro Salazar was allegedly taken by force by a group of armed men at about 6 p.m. Saturday. That account has not been confirmed by officials.
Castro Salazar is known on social media for her baking business, Rosa Dely, according to Infobae. The outlet said she also used YouTube to share baking videos and, later, glimpses of life with her four children.
Her disappearance comes as violence continues in Culiacan following the July 2024 arrest of longtime Sinaloa Cartel leader Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada near El Paso, Texas.
Recent violence in Mexico has also reached some influencers and online personalities, including OnlyFans creator “La Nicholette,” who was also abducted in Culiacan in late January and later found alive.
Other notable cases include Valeria Márquez, who was killed while livestreaming from her beauty salon near Guadalajara.
