2 killed, 3 injured in shootings over business dealings in Carrollton, Texas
A 69-year-old man is accused of opening fire at two locations in Carrollton, Texas, killing two men and injuring three other people in shootings linked to financial disagreements over business dealings, according to police.
The first shooting happened at about 9:57 a.m. on Tuesday in the 4000 block of State Highway 121, where officers found four adults with gunshot wounds. One man died at the scene, while two other men and a woman were taken to a hospital in stable condition.
The shooting happened at K Towne Plaza, a strip mall in the city’s Korea Town area, according to KDFW. Public records cited by the station show the suspect, Seung Ho Han, owns Kkanbu Sushi, which is located in the same shopping center.
About an hour later, at 11:13 a.m., police were called to a second shooting in the 2700 block of Old Denton Road. Officers found another man dead inside an apartment.
Investigators later determined that both shootings were carried out by Han, according to the Carrollton Police Department. He was taken into custody at about 12:12 p.m. after a short foot chase near Interstate 35 and the George Bush Turnpike.
Detectives interviewed Han after his arrest, and police said he confessed to shooting all five victims. He told investigators he was angry at the victims because of financial disagreements related to their business dealings.
Police did not immediately release the names of the victims or describe their connection to Han. There is no ongoing threat to the public, according to the department.
