Armed suspect barricaded with children after shooting in Seguin, Texas
An armed suspect has barricaded himself with three children after a shooting in Seguin, Texas, where one person was grazed in the head by gunfire, according to officials and local media reports.
The shooting happened at about 4 p.m. on Monday in the 700 block of Seguin-Luling Road in Seguin, a city about 35 miles northeast of San Antonio, according to the Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office.
One person suffered a graze wound to the head and was taken to a local hospital. The sheriff’s office said the victim was being treated and was speaking with investigators.
A short time later, authorities reported a heavy law enforcement presence in the 200 block of Pine Street, where they said an armed suspect was barricaded.
KWED, a local radio station, reported that the shooting stemmed from a road rage incident and that the suspect was barricaded with three children. The sheriff’s office has not confirmed those details.
According to KWED, citing witness statements, the victim had followed the suspect and his wife from San Antonio to the suspect’s residence in Seguin. The suspect then allegedly fired multiple rounds into or at the victim’s vehicle, striking him once.
The station reported that the suspect later dropped off his wife at the residence, took his three children and went to the Pine Street location, where he remains barricaded.
