Multiple people shot near Roman Forest, Texas
Multiple people have been shot northeast of Houston, according to local officials. The suspect is believed to still be in the area near Roman Forest.
“Law enforcement are currently responding to an active shooting in the Nottingham Rd area of the Kings Colony neighborhood in East County,” the Roman Forest Police Department said on Saturday afternoon. “Multiple individuals have been shot.”
Kings Colony is a neighborhood in East Montgomery County near Roman Forest, about 30 miles northeast of Houston.
The number of victims, their conditions, and the identity or status of the suspect are not immediately known.
“If you are outside the area, please avoid it and do not enter,” officials said. “If you are in the neighborhood, obey all commands from law enforcement, as they are on scene and actively working to bring the situation under control.”
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said the suspect is still in the area and deputies are working to secure the scene. Officials are asking people to avoid the area.
