Woman killed in shooting outside hospital in Tuscaloosa, Alabama
A woman was killed in a shooting in the parking lot of a hospital in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, according to officials. The suspect has been arrested.
The shooting happened Tuesday afternoon in the parking lot at DCH Regional Medical Center, according to the Tuscaloosa Police Department. The hospital is a major medical center in Tuscaloosa and west-central Alabama.
The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit is investigating the circumstances of the shooting. The unit told Gracie Johnson of ABC 33/40 that the victim was a woman.
Footage from the scene after the shooting showed a large police response outside the hospital, with officers gathered near the exterior of the medical center.
Police did not immediately release the identities of the victim or the suspect. Their relationship, if any, was unknown, and no motive has been announced.
