1 killed, 3 injured in shooting outside high school graduation in California

One teen was killed and three others, including a child, were injured in a shooting outside a high school graduation ceremony in Fairfield, California, according to police. No arrest have been reported.

The shooting happened at about 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday in the parking lot of Fairfield High School, about 45 miles northeast of San Francisco, around the time of the Sem Yeto High School graduation, Fairfield police spokeswoman Michelle Belyea said.

Four people were shot, including an 18-year-old who died and three others who were taken to hospitals, Belyea said. Police identified the injured victims as ages 11, 20 and 25, but their conditions were not immediately released.

The shooting happened toward the end of the graduation ceremony and was reported in the parking lot. No details have been released about what led up to the gunfire.

“I don’t have any information related to suspects at this time,” Belyea said during an initial briefing.

Police said they had no information indicating an ongoing threat to the community, but the scene remained active as officers continued the investigation.
