28 injured after multi-vehicle crash involving bus in Baltimore County
Twenty-eight patients have been reported after a multi-vehicle crash involving a bus in Pikesville, Maryland, where the bus crashed into a FedEx Office, according to fire officials. One person was critically injured.
The crash happened in the 1500 block of Reisterstown Road in Pikesville, a community northwest of Baltimore, where officials reported a bus collision into a building with entrapment, according to the Baltimore County Fire Department.
Footage from the scene posted on Facebook showed the bus at the FedEx Office and at least seven other vehicles involved. Several vehicles sustained heavy damage, including one that overturned, with wreckage spread across much of the block.
A critical patient was extricated at 6:47 p.m., according to fire officials. Baltimore County firefighters declared a second-alarm mass casualty incident, with 15 ambulances assigned to the response.
A large fire, EMS and police response could be seen at the scene, with several first responders working around the bus. Baltimore Gas and Electric was also responding because of downed wires.
