Elderly couple dies in murder-suicide in Stony Brook, New York
Two people – identified as Raymond and Sandra Foster – have been found dead at their home on Pembrook Drive in Stony Brook on Long Island. The man is accused of shooting his wife before killing himself.
The incident was reported at about 6:45 p.m. ET on Sunday when officers from the Suffolk County Police Department were called to a residence located at 6 Pembrook Drive.
A statement from police explained that a family member of the couple had gone to the home and found their bodies, after which the relative called 911. It was not immediately known when they died.
“Following an investigation, it was determined Raymond Foster, 79, shot his wife, Sandra, 78, and then shot himself,” police said. “The two were pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.”
Other details were not released.
