6 injured in stabbing at high school in Tacoma, Washington
At least six people have been injured in a stabbing incident at a high school in Tacoma, Washington, according to police and local media reports. Four of the injured have been reported to be in serious or critical condition.
The incident happened on Thursday at Foss High School in Central Tacoma, where officers responded after reports of a stabbing following a possible altercation, KCPQ reported, citing police.
A suspect has been arrested after the incident, police said. Officials have not released the suspect’s identity or said whether the individual is a student at the school.
Officers found four students and a security guard with injuries, according to preliminary reports from police. A sixth person who was injured is believed to be the suspect, KING reported. Four of the injured are reportedly in serious to critical condition.
The circumstances that led to the stabbing were not immediately clear. Officials have not said whether all five victims and the suspect were stabbed or whether some were injured in other ways during the incident.
The school has been placed on lockdown following the incident.
