Lauren Bennett, a British singer who was a member of the girl group G.R.L. and was featured on LMFAO’s global hit “Party Rock Anthem,” has died, according to her bandmates. She was 37.

G.R.L. announced Bennett’s death in a statement on Monday. The cause of death was not immediately released.

“It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Lauren,” the group said in an Instagram post. “Our hearts are broken, and we cannot begin to express how much she meant to us.”

Bennett rose to international recognition in 2011 when she was featured on “Party Rock Anthem” by LMFAO. The song became one of the biggest pop hits of the decade and helped make Bennett’s voice familiar to listeners around the world.

Before G.R.L., Bennett was a member of Paradiso Girls, a pop group formed in the late 2000s. She later became part of G.R.L., which was created by Pussycat Dolls founder Robin Antin and included Emmalyn Estrada, Natasha Slayton, Paula van Oppen and Simone Battle.

G.R.L. released songs including “Vacation,” “Ugly Heart” and “Lighthouse.” The group drew wider attention with “Ugly Heart” in 2014, but was also marked by tragedy when Battle died later that year.

“Our hearts are broken, and we cannot begin to express how much she meant to us,” the group said. “We will forever cherish the love, laughter, and countless memories she gave us.”

“Her beautiful spirit touched so many lives, and she will be deeply missed and forever loved,” the group added. “Rest peacefully, sweet Lauren. You will always be in our hearts.”
