Man dies after falling from upper deck at Madison Square Garden during concert
A Connecticut man died after falling from an upper deck during a concert at Madison Square Garden in New York City, according to police.
The man was identified as Paul Kueker, 51, of Niantic, Connecticut, according to WFSB, citing the New York City Police Department (NYPD).
Police said Kueker was found unconscious and unresponsive Saturday night with injuries indicating he had fallen from a high level inside the arena. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Officials did not say how far Kueker fell, but police said he had been in Section 300. He was attending the Goose concert with his wife.
“We are deeply saddened and heartbroken to learn of the tragic event that occurred at tonight’s show,” Goose said in a statement. “We extend our deepest sympathy to everyone affected.”
The band also thanked emergency personnel and venue staff “who stepped in with care and support.”
Police do not suspect foul play, WFSB reported. No additional details about the circumstances of the fall were immediately released.
