Ten people were injured when lightning struck an amusement park in southern Sweden, according to Swedish media and officials. A woman suffered serious injuries.

The lightning struck at Tosselilla Sommarland, a family amusement and water park near Tomelilla, a town in southern Sweden about 40 miles east of Malmö, shortly after the park opened to visitors, according to Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet.

Regional health officials said a woman in her 40s was seriously injured and taken to a hospital. Two other people were taken by ambulance with minor injuries.

Seven others, including five children, later went to an emergency department on their own, according to the regional health authority.

“We had a strong thunderstorm over Tosselilla today, which led to several lightning strikes directly on the grounds,” the park said in a statement. “This has led to some injuries and many ambulances being on site.”

The park also shared a photo showing a tree with a long section of bark stripped from its trunk, apparently from one of the lightning strikes.
