A Georgia Amber Alert has been issued for Scarlet Lira and Kael Lira, both of whom are 2 years old, after they were allegedly abducted from Powder Springs in Cobb County, local officials say. Anyone with information is urged to call 911 immediately.
The incident happened at about 1 a.m. on Monday when the children were allegedly taken from Powder Springs, according to the amber alert, which is also known as Levi’s Call. Specific details about the circumstances of the abduction were not immediately known.
The suspect has been identified as Jose Patillo, a 22-year-old Hispanic male who is believed to be driving a white 2016 Kia Sorren with Georgia license plate number CAP7259. Investigators believe he might be taking the children to California. He is 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs 170 pounds.
“The children are believed to be in extreme danger,” the amber alert said.
