Rancho Cucamonga High School on lockdown after stabbing

Rancho Cucamonga High School (RCHS) in San Bernardino County was put on lockdown after a male student was stabbed on campus, officials say. An investigation is underway and two suspects have been detained. (more)
The incident happened at 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday when someone was assaulted at Rancho Cucamonga High School, which is located at Lark Drive. Specific details about the assault were not immediately available.
"We are actively investigating an assault on the campus of Rancho Cucamonga High School," the Rancho Cucamonga Police Department said in a brief statement.
According to initial reports, the victim - a male student - was assaulted by as many as three other boys and stabbed at least once. The stabbing reportedly followed a dispute involving a girl, though authorities have yet to confirm that.
The identity of the victim or his condition were not immediately known, though the injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Both Rancho Cucamonga High School and Lightfoot Elementary School were put on lockdown as a precaution while officers rushed to the scene, but the lockdowns were later lifted when two.suspects were taken into custody. It is unclear if any other suspects are still being sought.
