The incident happened at about 6 p.m. on Thursday when Landon was taken from his caretaker's home near Hallsbridge and 3rd Street in League City. Specific details about the circumstances of the abduction were not immediately released.

Investigators have identified the suspect as 32-year-old Kasey Bertling, who is the biological mother of Landon. Kasey had lost custody of the child due to drug abuse and mental health issues, according to the League City Police Department.

Kasey is believed to have taken the child in a black, 2-door Mercedes but the vehicle's license plate number is known.

A photo of Kasey was not immediately available, but she is described as a 32-year-old white female with red hair and brown eyes, standing 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing 110 pounds. She was last seen wearing a white rain jacket and blue jeans.

Landon is described as a 7-year-old white male with brown hair cut in a Mohawk and brown eyes, standing 3 feet 3 inches tall and weighing 53 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue Pokemon shirt with yellow lettering and gray basketball/workout style pants with a green stripe running down the pantlegs.

Anyone with information regarding the child or suspect is asked to immediately call the League City Police Department at 281-332-2566.
