Here's a quick look at the most important news of the last 24 hours.

* The U.S. Supreme Court has decided to reinstate President Trump's travel ban on visitors from 6 Muslim-majority countries and all refugees until justices consider the case in full. Only those with strong ties to the U.S. are excluded. The travel ban's limited duration means the case will become moot before a ruling, unless Trump decides to extend the travel restrictions. * The U.S. Congressional Budget Offices has estimated that the number of uninsured would be 22 million higher in 2026 under the Senate health care bill proposed by Republicans. Several Republicans have since said they would vote against advancing the bill in its current form, making a vote unlikely.

* Brazilian President Michel Temer has been charged with corruption after he allegedly accepted bribes from a giant meatpacking firm. The Supreme Court will now decide whether to forward the case to the lower house of parliament, which would then vote on a trial. Temer has denied any wrongdoing.

* The United States claims it has detected "potential preparations" for a chemical weapons attack in Syria, warning Syrian President Bashar al-Assad that he and his military would pay a "heavy price" if an attack were to take place. No evidence was given. (Click here to read more)

* At least 52 migrants have been found dead in the Sahara Desert in central Niger after they were abandoned by traffickers, who left them without water and food. Women and children are among those who died. It comes just weeks after 44 migrants died of thirst after their truck broke down in the same region.

* A Mexican journalist who was abducted last month has been found dead along a highway in the central state of Michoacan. His body was burned. Six journalists have been killed in Mexico so far this year, more than any other country in the world. (Click here to read more)
