Colorado Amber Alert: William Lake missing from Springs

A Colorado Amber Alert has been issued for 3-year-old William Lake after he was allegedly taken from Colorado Springs by his father, local authorities say. Anyone with information is urged to call 911 immediately. (more)

William is believed to be with his father, 28-year-old David Kevin Lake, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department. "Detectives are interested in speaking with Mr. David Lake regarding an on-going investigation and in checking William's welfare," police said.

Specific details about the nature of the investigation were not immediately released.

David is described as a white male with brown hair and brown eyes, standing 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing about 150 pounds. He is believed to have taken William in a 2003 blue Toyota Corolla bearing Colorado license plate OBP-131.

"At this time investigators don’t have any information about Mr. Lake’s or William’s whereabouts," police said.

William is described as a white male with blonde curly hair and blue eyes, standing 3 feet tall and weighing about 50 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black and white print button up shirt, grey pants, and white shoes. A photo of the child has not been released.
