              Alabama State Senator Cam Ward was booked into jail Wednesday on a driving under the influence charge, according to the Shelby County Sheriff's Office. A bond amount was not immediately known. Ward, a longtime Republican senator from Alabaster, is known for his fight to reform Alabama's overcrowded prison system. On Tuesday, Alabama Governor Robert Bentley named the senator to the prison reform council.

              A man identified as Raymond Carter has been arrested for allegedly burning down a CVS Pharmacy in Baltimore during the riots in late April, ATF Baltimore spokesman Special Agent Dave Cheplak says. Carter was taken into custody in South Baltimore after a brief foot chase.

              A man in his late 50s who was attacked by a shark while swimming off Ocracoke Island in North Carolina suffered bites to his rib cage, hip, lower leg and both hands, the Hyde County Public Information Office says. "The man was swimming outside the first breaker, directly in front of the lifeguard stand when he encountered a grey shark, six to seven feet in length," the office said in a statement. "The shark pulled him under the water and the man sustained several bites." The victim was in a "stable, conscious and oriented condition" before being airlifted to a Greenville hospital.               A person, believed to be a man, is being airlifted to hospital after a shark attack on Ocracoke Island in North Carolina, the Hyde County Public Information Office says on its Twitter account. "They are being flown off island for medical treatment," the office said. CNN reporter AnneClaire Stapleton cited a witness as saying that a "trail of blood" followed the victim after he was taken away by medics.

              Department store Macy's says it has decided to terminate its relationship with business magnate Donald Trump, citing his controversial comments last month in which he referred to some Mexican immigrants as rapists, drug users and criminals. "Macy's is a company that stands for diversity and inclusion. We have no tolerance for discrimination in any form," the company said in a statement.
