One of nearly 300 Nigerian schoolgirls who were abducted by the Islamist group Boko Haram nearly three years ago has been found alive, along with a six-month-old baby who was born during the mother's captivity.
Italian oil and gas company Eni says 12 maintenance workers were killed Thursday in an explosion at a repair site on one of its oil pipelines in Nigeria. All the victims, including three workers who suffered injuries, were employees of a local contractor. "The causes of the incident are still under investigation by both Eni and the local authorities," Eni said in a statement. It added that the Tebidaba-Clough Creek line, in Nigeria's onshore Niger Delta, had previously been damaged by acts of sabotage.
