Small earthquake rattles Kenya, felt in Nairobi
A small earthquake has been felt in some parts of Kenya, with light shaking felt in the capital Nairobi, seismologists and residents say. There were no reports of damage.
The earthquake struck at 10:27 p.m. on Friday and was felt in Nairobi and the surrounding region. The exact magnitude was not immediately known.
Hundreds of people took to social media to report feeling the late-night earthquake, which was described as small and there were no reports of damage or injuries.
Kenya, and Nairobi especially, do not experience a lot of earthquakes. The biggest earthquake in Kenya’s history happened in 1928, when a 6.7-magnitude earthquake hit near Nyahururu.
