Gum Disease

It occurs due to the plaque buildup on the marginal line of the gums. The common signs of gum disease include red, swollen, or bleeding gum.

Bad Breath (Halitosis)

  • Scrape the tongue while brushing your teeth as bacteria may settle there.

Tooth sensitivity occurs when there is discomfort, or pain during the consumption of hot, ice-cold, sweet, or even acidic food or drink. Worn enamel, exposed roots of the tooth, or tooth cavities that are not treated may lead to this.

Some prevention tips for tooth sensitivity are as follows:

  • Use toothpaste produced for sensitive teeth.
  • Do not take in too much acidic food and drink which may cause wear to the enamel.
  • Avoid extreme brushing by using a toothbrush with soft bristles.

Tooth Grinding (Bruxism)

Bruxism, or grinding or clenching teeth, leads to enamel wear and jaw discomfort. It also results in chipped teeth. It is common during the night but sometimes due to stress or in cases where teeth are not straying from the place go out of sight.

Some prevention tips for tooth grinding are as follows:

  • Wear a mouth guard that has been made specifically for your teeth.
  • Try managing stress with yoga techniques or exercise of some sort.

Stained Teeth

Tooth discoloration can be due to coffee, tea, and tobacco intake as well as neglect of oral health. Over time, these surface pigments are more difficult to remove when they find their way to enamel and build up.
