UPDATE: The amber alert has been canceled. Calista was determined to be a runaway and Samuel Chrispens was not involved, according to police.
A Michigan Amber Alert has been issued for 16-year-old Calista Rose after she was reported missing from Galesburg in Kalamazoo County, local officials say. Anyone with information is urged to call 911 immediately.
Calista was last seen at 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday in the city of Galesburg, but details about the circumstances of her disappearance were not immediately released. She is thought to be with 45-year-old Samuel Chrispens.
Chrispens is believed to have taken Calista in a gray 2011 4-door Chrysler with Michigan license plate 1MCW51. It’s unknown where he may be taking her, and there’s no word on the nature of their relationship, if any.
Chrispens is described as a 45-year-old white male, while Calista is a 16-year-old white female with black hair and hazel eyes. She was last seen wearing a black t-shirt with a pink winter coat.
Anyone who sees Calista, Chrispens, or the suspect vehicle is urged to call 911 immediately, or call Michigan State Police at 269-657-5551 if you have any other information that could help investigators.
